When are you open? 

We are currently CLOSED for the season. We will reopen in 2024. Island Roots Flower Farm is open seasonally, from summer to autumn. You'll find updates here on the website and on our Instagram and Facebook pages.  

Where are you located? 

Island Roots Flower Farm is located in Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island. 

Our address is 6975 ON-551 Mindemoya, ON P0P 1S0 

Head down Cress Road about 300 meters from the highway, and you should see our parking lot and small farm shop.

What can I do at your farm? 

Most people visit our flower farm to pick their own flowers! Our Harvest Experience is $30 and we provide you with everything you need to build your own bouquet, including a jar, scissors, and fresh water for your flowers. 

If picking flowers is not your thing, we also have a pumpkin patch open each fall.

We also have a great area for picnics if you'd like to spend a quiet afternoon or evening outside with your friends and/or family. We have one picnic table that can be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Alternatively, there is lots of space available for you to bring your own picnic blankets! 
 
Please note that alcohol and smoking are prohibited on the farm.  

What flowers are available? 

We have many varieties, such as: sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, baby's breath, calendula, dahlias, celosia, carnations, forget-me-nots, poppies, and more! Throughout the season, what's in bloom may fluctuate. Please send us a message if you're looking for a specific variety. 

Can I bring my dog? 

Yes, we'd love for you to bring your dog! We ask that you please be mindful of a few rules so we can continue to keep our farm pet friendly. 

• Pets must be leashed at all times. 
• Please pick up after your pet.  
• Do not allow your dogs to enter the flower beds or pee on the flowers. 
• Some of our flowers may be poisonous to pets. Do not allow them to eat any plants or flowers. 
• Please do not let your pet approach other families or individuals unless asked.  

 

Can I rent your farm for an event? 

Since we're open to the public most days of the week, we often can't accommodate event rentals. However, we are currently evaluating event rentals on a case by case basis depending on the date requested.

Can I do a photoshoot at your farm? 

As to not disrupt our guests' experiences, there is no professional photography allowed during opening hours.

Can I buy flowers in bulk? 

Since we're a U-Pick farm first and foremost, we can't guarantee that specific quantities and varieties will be available for bulk harvesting.
